Hi, I'm Dr. Marc Robinson.

After graduating with a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy, I spent the past 9 years of my career as a Licensed Physical Therapist working with over four thousand clients in the clinic with Sharp Hospital Outpatient Rehab and at my own clinic/gym in Clairemont Mesa, San Diego.

Sharp Hospital provides excellent care, but I believe there is a missing step that begins after someone finishes insurance-based physical therapy.

After finishing your physical therapy visits, you may still have weaknesses, muscular imbalances, and limited mobility.

I believe people would benefit from a strength training program developed by a Physical Therapist to prepare their bodies for the demands of their daily activities, sports, or work duties.

This strength training program needs to be tailored to your needs based on a performance-based assessment. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I have the medical and fitness knowledge to bridge the gap between your injury status and your dream goal.

Take the time to write down your dream goal right now. Follow the SMART goal template. Goals should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.

What is your dream goal?

I will help you reach this goal. I know it may be taking longer than you thought, but I believe it’s possible with the right guidance.

I can help you modify exercises so you can perform them safely and get stronger again. Although we’ll pay close attention to your pain, we won’t let it ruin or control your life. I’ll build a home program for you with videos and photos of exercises so you can always maintain your progress.

Sessions with me are different than traditional insurance-based physical therapy because I focus on strength training at higher intensities to break past fear and mental barriers that were put up during your injury.

Also, we’ll focus on building your long-term resiliency, increasing your strength, and improving your mobility. This helps reduce your risk of developing arthritis or hurting yourself while exercising.

Overall, you’ll feel more confident and strong with your daily activities, sports, and work duties so you can enjoy your life!

Stay Strong,

What are My Skills?

I have developed physical therapy programs for hundreds of people immediately post-op after total knee replacements, meniscus tears, ACL reconstructions, rotator cuff repairs, ankle fractures, back fusions, and other surgeries. However, my main area of expertise is developing strength training programs that transition people back to higher levels of activities and sports.

Doctorate in Physical Therapy - (Only some Physical Therapists have a doctorate degree) 100 %
McKenzie Method Certified (I'm certified in the leading method for reducing musculoskeletal pain) 100 %
FMS (Functional Movement Screen certified) - This screen is good for athletes and injury prevention 100 %
Strength Training (Experience in Personal Training, I personally love weight lifting) 100 %
Corrective Exercise (specialized exercises and stretches to improve muscle tightness/weakness) 100 %
Manual Therapy (Joint mobilizations, soft tissue work, and hands-on feedback to muscles) 100 %

Be like Edwin!

Prove it to yourself that you can do it!

Edwin is just one of the hundreds of testimonials of my clients triumphing over their injuries, but every story matters to me. Edwin loved to play soccer and run marathons, but he hurt his lower back lifting weights and stopped exercising for almost 1 year due to the pain.

He reach out to me several years ago because he wanted to run a marathon in the next three months. I taught him proper lifting mechanics, mobilized his lower back with manual techniques, and implemented the McKenzie Method to reduce his pain.

But we spent most of our time incorporating a progressive strength training program to systematically increase his strength and mobility and prepare his body for the demands of running a marathon and playing soccer again.

When the three-month mark arrived, he was feeling strong and confident to run his marathon and play soccer again with no pain!

Start training with me like Edwin and let’s reach that goal together! (The photo shows Edwin finishing his first marathon after taking one year off due to his injury).

Congratulations to Edwin!
